Would you like to become part of the pioneering work of getting a Bachelor programme in International Tourism and Hospitality Management well off the ground? Do you have teaching and research qualifications in hospitality and tourism management and are you curious to work in an international and highly diverse work and study environment? Then a position as teaching staff at Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College might just be you!

The three-year Bachelor (Hons) programme in International Tourism and Hospitality Management is a fully accredited UK Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Tourism and Hospitality Management (ITHM) delivered in partnership with De Montfort University in Leicester, UK. The first intake of students will be in September 2025 and students will be admitted to the programme twice a year – for the fall and spring semester. At Niels Brock, we are committed to sustainable business and being in Copenhagen, we are well-enabled to embed and enhance this agenda in our programmes. At the ITHM programme, Sustainability and social responsibility are the central threads across levels and modules.

The programme’s design follows an innovative approach to learning using Block teaching where students study one module at a time, with each teaching block being 7 weeks in length, which facilitates students progressing from one core subject to the next. To help students prepare academically for a wide variety of career opportunities in tourism and hospitality, we are looking for dedicated and competent teaching staff. As the programme is just starting in Copenhagen, you must see yourself as a pioneer-teacher. But you will not be on your own! While designing and contextualizing this programme’s internationalized curriculum to Danish conditions for international students at Niels Brock, you will collaborate closely with both your Niels Brock and UK colleagues at DMU, including our Link Tutor Dr Tijana Rakić.

In our recruitment, we are looking for a minimum of 4 faculty members that fulfill general requirements listed below and that can cover a broad range of the programme’s subjects – at the moment with focus on the first years subjects, such as e.g. Introduction into Tourism and Hospitality; Journeys and Places; Strategic Management in Tourism and Hospitality; and Marketing for Tourism and Hospitality. Further modules, such as Programming and Planning Festivals; Tourism, Society and Culture; International Tourism and Hospitality Research Visit; Research Methods and Dissertation; Tourism and Hospitality Products; Enterprise: Tourism and Hospitality; and Destination Management and Marketing, will come into focus during academic years 2026-27 and 2027-28. While the programme’s focus is Tourism and Hospitality Management, relevant insights from the social sciences and humanities also feature in some of its modules. Although predominantly a teaching-position, 100 hours per year is allocated to academic research. We expect the applicant to pursue research within or adjacent to the field of tourism and hospitality.

General requirements
•    The ability to speak and write English fluently (Danish is not a requirement).
•    A PhD degree is preferred, however a relevant master’s degree in a relevant Tourism and/or Hospitality specific subject area is the minimum requirement.
•    Relevant industry experience will be highly beneficial.
•    Documented teaching experience or other documented skills in knowledge transfer.
•    A firm interest in designing teaching materials and organizing relevant fieldtrips, industry visits and guest lectures as part of the programme to provide students with hands-on experiences.
